We are ttc (through IUI) and my ob/gyn said I should take fish oil (among several other supplements.) I don’t eat fish, I just can’t get myself to take fish oil capsules. I tried and I couldn’t. So I asked my ob/gyn about flaxseed as an alternative and he said that there weren’t any studies that he knew on it but that in theory it should do the same thing.

I stumbled across an article that says flaxseed is bad during pregnancy and while ttc. I don’t know how credible the article is of course since it was promoting fish oil http://www.womens-health-questions.com/omega-3.html. Does any one have information or knowledge about flaxseed and flaxseed oil during pregnancy or while ttc?
Thanks.

Wtfcats – I know, this is my second pregnancy, and I never worried about any of that before, but now people are telling me that I need to eat fish when I don’t really like it…. I may try the eggs though, because i like eggs (with bacon of course!) Thanks to both for your responses!
And I am taking my prenatal vitamin still, so I suppose I just shouldn’t worry too much then.
