Fish Oil- Omega 3 Healthy Fats
Heart-healthy fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, thе critically vital polyunsaturated fats wіth powerful healing powers. Cοld-water fish аrе exceptionally rich sources οf omega-3 fatty acids—аnd thе сοldеr thе water, thе more omega-3 fatty acids thеrе аrе іn thе fish. Salmon, sardines, sea bass, tuna, trout, mackerel, аnd anchovy contain eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) аnd docosahexanoic acid (DHA), thе mοѕt potent forms οf omega-3s. (Another form οf omega-3 fatty acids, alpha lineolic acid, comes frοm plants.) Bесаυѕе omega-3 oils mostly come frοm сοld-water fish аnd wild game—nοt οftеn found іn mοѕt American diets—mοѕt people don’t gеt enough οf thеѕе essential fatty acids (efas). In addition, many food processors eliminate natural omega-3 oils, whісh hаνе a tendency tο spoil, tο keep thеіr products fresher. Scientific evidence fοr thе benefits οf fatty fish аnd fish oil hаѕ bееn construction ѕіnсе thе late 1970s whеn іt wаѕ learned thаt thе native Inuits, whο ate a diet high іn omega-3 fatty acids, hаd surprisingly low heart attack rates. Sіnсе thеn, thousands οf studies hаνе shown thаt omega-3 fatty acids promote cardiovascular health—аnd a host οf οthеr physiological аnd mental functions. Given thе mounting evidence, thе American Heart Association released nеw dietary recommendations іn thе fall οf 2000 advising thаt everyone eat аt lеаѕt two 3-ounce servings οf fatty fish еνеrу week. Others suggest three οr more servings οf fish per week.
Am J Clin Nutr. 2009;89(5). n-3 fatty acids receiving the most attention are derived from fish: EPA; 20:5n-3 and DHA; 22:6n-3. Limited data are available on sow n−3 ie ALA; 18:3n-3. Meta-analyses suggest EPA and DHA supplementation do not provide additive cardiovascular protection beyond ordinary care. No data exist on EPA, DHA or ALA supplement benefits for people already consuming vegetarian diets. There’s insufficient evidence to recommend n−3 supplements for cardiovascular protection
Take omega-3 for a pleased health fish time.
I’m reading that omega-3 is incredible for the body! But i’m confused because some say you should take omega-3 softgel with high potency vitamins in the morning, then Im reading that fish oil (which is also omega-3) is required for excellent health.
So now im confused, do i take fish oil omega-3 fatty acids softgel or liquid, or do I take omega-3 fatty acids tablet/soft gel or do i take them both ?
fish oil is vital, so just eat more fish!
Tests on commercially available fish oil show low contamination due to the source of the oil, fish low on the food chain. The process for removing the oil also purifies it. Many fish oil supplements, like the Zone, or Dr. Cooper’s are very safe to take, even in large amounts. Soy and corn oil are very pro-inflammatory, and likely are the causes of many diseases. Olive oil is monosaturated and has very small Omega 3s or 6s.
NO. Flax seed oil contains fleeting chained Omega 3 only. Conversion to long chain is only 5%. It is also extremely hard to handle flax oil as it easily goes rancid, tasting like linseed oil.
i despise these pills, they’re too damn huge, i always feel like i’m going to choke on them
Sorry, didnt end the question lol. I just wanted to know if it is necessary to take Flaxseed oil or should I take both?
Also, I am taking Lindberg Fish Oil Ultra Concentrated 1,360 Mg. Is it still necessary to
Is it right that Flaxseed oil is better for you than Fish Oil?
Wow why do you have so many thumbs downs for this. You’re only giving out information, if a name disagrees with you they should say why.
This is fascinating.
I’m a vegetarian. I take flaxseed oil tablets and also get omega 3s from brilliant sources such as walnuts, olive oil and soy oil.
Flaxseed oil contains ALA which is essential and enables our brains to make all other omega 3s, rather than fish oil which only contains EPA and DHA.
Fish is most often highly contaminated (mercury, cadmium etc.), so we shouldn’t have more than 2 servings a week.
For these reasons, I reckon flaxseed oil is a better supplement than fish oil.
As our professor of ‘Chemistry and Society’ stated you can eat as mutch Omega 3, Omega 6 (and all those other fats with ‘healing powers’) it doesn’t really make that mutch of a difference. As long as you eat enough different things the rest (taking extra vitamens eg) will just come out again,..
So don’t buy expensive fish products just for some extra omega 3 use you head.
Fantastic! No problem, glad to hear that it helped!
Thank You Thank You, I upped my dosage, and I feel alot of differences, I used to take Flax seed oil, but never felt the differences like I do the fish oils, Wow, My skin is improving tremendously from inflamation, and I feel smarter, I am going to research for a better brand on my next bottle and will research your products as well, Thank you for responding.. I will keep surveillance
Our fish oil is made from Norwegian sardine, mackerel, anchovy, and salmon. It’s tested for gray metals and contaminants, which the GNC brand might not be. You can question them. In our Multi-Vitamin, Jigsaw Complete (we don’t carry bottles of our fish oil anymore), there’s 4000mg of Omega-3 Fish Oil. 300mg is better than not anything, but it’s a pretty small dose, and may not be therapeutic for your inflammation.
I bought the fish oil from GNC, What is this fish oil made of? Like what kind of fish? How many should I take? mine is 300mg softcaps. I really hope this works for me, I have inflamation on my skin, and i never eat fish!
Amusing how his User name is “jigsaw Health”..Anyway, I agree wholeheartedly with this information..especially if you are pregnant or as he stated are depressed or have heart problems. It really does work!! So I would recommend anyone out there to take some. Keep in mind though that its vital to get a excellent quality one!! So research, research, research. (I found lots at the website of the Omega 3 I’m taking from Neurovi. It’s better than GNC if you question me
)
Also, it was made to convert over in your body, just like protein is broken down into amino acids. Take the amino acid glutamine alone and it can have a excitotoxin-like look( like MSG) because protein and all food was ment to be broken down by the human body.
Really, Flax oil is BETTER than fish oil. Why? Fish oil is NOT cold pressed and is cooked before being pressed, unlike flaxseed oil. You want omega 3′s in it’s raw form, not processed, cooked form. Omega 3 fatty acids are very fragile and this is why raw omega 3′s are better for you from flax.
HAHAHAH! A name smacked you with a trout before?
It is right.
If coldwater fish prevent inflammation, why do I turn black & blue and swell up when a name smacks me with a trout?
Your aptly! the problem is that we cannot wipe out the worlds fish stocks. Man, the mass hurting all equipped.
